Experienced. Supportive. Passionate about every rider’s journey.
Our coaching team is what makes Lumpkin County MTB truly special.
We are more than just a group of coaches—we’re a community of riders, mentors, and families who care deeply about every athlete on the team.
In many cases, we have as many—or even more—coaches than riders on the trail. That means every athlete gets the attention, support, and guidance they need to grow.
All coaches undergo a yearly background check and educational trainings in relevant topics so they know what they are doing.
From first-time riders to elite competitors, our coaches meet each athlete where they are and help them move forward with confidence.
We intentionally maintain a high coach-to-rider ratio so every athlete is supported on the trail.
Our coaches include parents, experienced riders, and community members who share a passion for the sport.
We develop not just strong riders, but confident, resilient young people.
You don’t have to be an elite rider to make a difference on this team.
Our coaches come from all backgrounds:
We provide training and support every step of the way.
New coaches can complete Level 1 certification through Georgia Cycling supported training and programs, with opportunities to grow and advance over time.
If you’ve ever wanted to be part of something meaningful—and have a lot of fun doing it—this is your chance.
You don’t have to have a kid on the team to be a coach. You don’t even have to have any kids period to be a coach! We have coaches who love mountain biking and spending time with our team. They get a lot of satisfaction from helping out the next generation and make new friends in the process.
Our coaching team is fully committed to providing a safe and structured environment for every rider.
All coaches:
Complete background checks
Participate in required certifications
Receive training in rider safety and team protocols
We take pride in creating an environment where athletes and families feel confident, supported, and cared for. Some people associate mountain biking with danger, but our coaches keep activities at the right level for the student-athletes to keep it challenging and interesting but not dangerous.
