LCMTB is currently comprised of the following:
- Local Youth 6-12th Grades
- Lumpkin County Middle and High Schoolers
Coaches
“All coaches receive a yearly background check, and Georgia Cycling Association requires training in concussion awareness, risk management, first-aid, CPR, and coaching bike skills.”
Participation Requirements
We are here to have fun, ride, race, and include value for everyone. The team philosophy is fun first, with our central goal of student-athletes developing a strong mind, body, and character through mountain biking. There are no tryouts; everyone rides during practice regardless of ability and or skill level. Racing is optional and not required to join the team.
If you need equipment or a bike, please let us know immediately. The league has a loaner bike program for those who qualify, and the team has been able to offer scholarships locally to several families to help with registration and race fees. We want to get as many student-athletes as possible on bikes, so please feel free to ask.
Equipment Requirements & Recommendation
- Certified Bicycle Helmet
- Geared Mountain Bike (No E-Bikes)
- Bike Tires must have knobby tires, size 26” to 29”
- Bike must be in good working condition
- We recommend having a local bike shop do an inspection
- Bike water bottle or camelbak style pack

Individual race registration
Registering race-by-race allows a student-athlete to participate without committing to the full series. This is perfect for a student-athlete who has never ridden in a race before and wants to try out competition without committing to the whole series. It is also an ideal solution for those seeking flexibility to work around a scheduling conflict.
Registration for an individual race closes at 12 Noon on the Tuesday PRIOR to race weekend.
Individual race registration fees are non-refundable. Should a rider have a medical issue that prevents them from riding in a race, that fee may be transferred to a future 2025 race with documentation from a medical professional.
